Soul-nourishing 1:1 Sessions, Workshops, and Retreats are consciously created and facilitated by Australian Watercolour Artist and Transpersonal Therapist, Joanne Duckworth.

I’m Jo, I have a deep appreciation for authentic self-expression, both in myself and in others.

Throughout my life the transformative power of art and the healing embrace of nature has been my therapy, guiding me and providing sanctuary, while gifting me a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.

Drawing from a wealth of education and lived experience, my purpose is to walk alongside you, utilising art-making and nature to assist you in your journey of self-discovery and insight for personal growth, well-being, and healing.

Hello,

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that utilizes the creative process of making art to improve and enhance mental, emotional, and physical well-being. In art therapy, individuals are encouraged to explore and express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through various art materials and techniques, such as painting, drawing, sculpting, or collage. Read more here.

My therapeutic approach goes beyond the canvas, delving deep into the realms of transpersonal therapy to help you connect with your true self.

Transpersonal therapy takes a holistic approach, working with:

- mind

- body

- spirit|soul

I incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and other spiritual practices such as connection with nature, ritual and ceremony alongside art-making to support you in your exploration of self, connection with others, and journey towards inner harmony and well-being.

What does transpersonal mean and how does it relate to therapy?

transpersonal
adjective

  1. denoting or relating to states or areas of consciousness beyond the limits of personal identity.

In transpersonal therapy, ‘trans’ refers to beyond, while ‘personal’ pertains to the individual. The aim of transpersonal therapy is to transcend the limitations of thinking brain and emotions, allowing individuals to connect with the deeper aspects of their being, such as spirit or soul.

Wattle Bloom for you?

I believe that everyone possesses an innate ability to use creativity as a way to express themselves. Just like we don’t have to be chefs to cook and nourish our bodies with food, we don’t have to be artists to create art that nurtures and supports our well-being.

I provide a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment for you to

- explore your inner world and express your emotions

- find healing and growth through the transpersonal therapy process

- cultivate a deeper connection with yourself and the world around you

Whether you're seeking personal growth, healing, or a deeper connection with self, I am here to help.
